The DEDUNU Pre School & Day Care for the older little ones open almost simultaneously with the Crèche at around 06H30 when the children of the early working mothers walk in with their energetic little toddlers between the ages of 03 years to ± 5 years.

Welcomed at the door by the lady-attendant, their little ‘school-bags’ are hung in their allotted places and the routine activities follow until the Three Pre School teachers come in closer to 08H00. The day begins with a hearty breakfast, specially prepared for the young growing child – the menu varying according to the day of the week. The formal “Pre School Day” is heralded with a prayer for peace, happiness and prosperity for the parents – for their families – and for the nation.

Reading, Writing and listening skills and other basics necessary for formal education are taught under a methodical curriculum till lunchtime. Learning is serious – the teachers loyal and dedicated to their onerous but enjoyable vocation – the children continually enlivened with attention-drawing anecdotes.

Lunch follows at midday and then the mandatory wash and nap until about 15H00 - waking up to the refreshment of a steaming mug of soup or milk and a snack.

The rest of the day is fun and laughter – song and dancing - with outdoor play at the Mat-Slide or Climbing Towers from 17H00 until their parents are back from work to walk them to their little homes for a meagre dinner and a well deserved sleep.
