A service unique and exclusive – rarely available
even for a fee – is The DEDUNU After School Service
for school-going children from the ages of ±
05 years to 11 years.
The children – both boys and girls - trail in
to a specially assigned section at DEDUNU at staggered
times from about 13H30 to 14H00 daily after their school
sessions in the morning. It is indeed a pleasant sight
to see these little scholars wearily walking through
the DEDUNU gates in their white – and most often
‘not so white’ uniforms - to be gently coaxed
by the matronly Senior Assistant at DEDUNU to bathe
or wash, before letting them rush for their mid-day
meal.

It
is a treat to the eyes to witness these little people relishing
their meal, ‘devouring’ their food like hungry
wolves! The DEDUNU rules strictly prohibits waste; abiding
by this stricture - every morsel served on to their plates
is heartily eaten – remarking from time to time the
virtues of a ‘clean plate’ – all this more
to please the Senior Assistant who is overseeing them at the
Lunch Table!
Soon after their lunch – they are encouraged to take
a nap – and then waking up around 16H00 to a refreshing
mug of chocolate with milk before they begin their homework
or English lessons with the assistance of a special part-time
teacher.
Eventually they escape for some play with the Pre School
kids – and soon it is time to go home – as their
parents return to fetch them at or about 18H00. |
